Alex Brandt Montalbini is inspired to create a new generation of living spaces that dramatically enhance the health and comfort of their occupants. Before founding Amelio, he worked as a structural engineering professional with some of the world’s top firms. Based in Chicago, Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi, he collaborated with international architectural practices on large-scale developments all over the world. A Bergamo, Italy native, Alex earned a BS in Civil Engineering from Southern Illinois University, and an MS in Structural Engineering from Stanford University.

Dr. Parham Azimi serves as Amelio’s Chief Scientific Officer, investigating the indoor environment’s impact on occupant health and wellness and strategies to improve it. Parham is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Healthy Buildings Program at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. His research interests exist at the intersection of indoor air quality (IAQ), public exposure and health, transmission of airborne diseases, and energy performance of buildings. He earned a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, an M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran. Parham is an active member of technical committees, panels and working groups with ASHRAE (including the ASHRAE Epidemic Task Force), UL Standards, and AAAR (American Association for Aerosol Research).

Matthew is an experienced leader in real estate development and investment. His passion for the built environment and improving communities informed his career arc, starting with architecture, design, and construction to ultimately find his calling in the development and investment realm. This diverse expertise exposed him to a variety of asset types, including mixed-use, multifamily, hospitality, commercial office, life science, industrial, and studio production facilities. With extensive participation in acquisitions, value-add and ground-up development, and asset management, he brings a comprehensive lens to create project value throughout the lifecycle of a project.

Hardik brings over 15 years of experience in hotel development and operations. His career started in operations supporting his family’s small portfolio of hotels. Hardik then spent several years at CBRE Hotels before pursuing his Masters degree at The University of Southern California. Upon graduation, he transitioned to a Development and Acquisitions role where he oversaw the development of several multi-family and hotel development projects from conception through completion. Hardik has since shifted to the brand side at Hilton and Sonder as a part of their development teams.

Hardik brings over 15 years of experience in hotel development and operations. His career started in operations supporting his family’s small portfolio of hotels. Hardik then spent several years at CBRE Hotels before pursuing his Masters degree at The University of Southern California. Upon graduation, he transitioned to a Development and Acquisitions role where he oversaw the development of several multi-family and hotel development projects from conception through completion. Hardik has since shifted to the brand side at Hilton and Sonder as a part of their development teams.

Rossy Dreis is passionate about promoting health and wellbeing through buildings by paying close attention to both the physical and psychological impact of buildings on their occupants. She champions an interdisciplinary evidence based human-centered approach in all phases of the building lifecycle. Rossy’s experience spans acquisition, development, design, construction, and management of buildings from healthcare facilities and data centers to residential towers and coworking spaces. Rossy earned a Bachelor of Architecture with a minor in Psychology from Syracuse University.

Amit worked on several research projects related to the European Horizon 2020 program. He taught at the Politecnico di Milano for several years and is now a visiting lecturer. Amit earned his Master degree in Architecture and Urban Design and Master degree in Sustainable Architecture from the Politecnico di Milano.

Zahra is a Research Assistant in the Healthy Buildings Program at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She has academic and professional experience in indoor environmental quality inspection, testing, instrumentation, monitoring, and advanced data analysis including the application of machine learning techniques. She earned an M.Sc. in Structural Engineering from Islamic Azad University and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from A.B.A. University.

Kit was raised in Hong Kong and has practiced architecture with design firms in Asia, Europe and the United States working with local clients and collaborators giving him an international perspective and cultural sensitivity. Kit earned a BA in Architectural Studies from the University of Hong Kong and a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, and is completing his MBA degree at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
